Grade 9 Science 1.1
Activity: Creating Science Blog
Hi, my name is Heather, I am 32 and I did grade 9 science back in high school. Due to a series of things out of my control, I'm back. I have a 7 year old, who will eventually be smarter than me one day. Today is not that day, but I do need to set a good example for him.
Science effects my life several times a day. From the gravitational principles of how my toilet flushes, to the chemical changes of heat and time in my baking. There is no escaping the everyday necessities of science.
Of course I would take a job in a science-based career field. If money wasn't an issue I'm not sure what I would do specifically, but to start I would love to enter energy resources. The study of future energy technologies is amazing.
Self-check
I have started my own running notebook on my computer. This isn't my first academic rodeo regarding distance learning. I have not entirely picked an ecological blog issue to write about. Industry created waste run-off sounds like a great topic. Like textile dyes or waste and dirty waters being released into water systems because they are cheaper than proper processioning and remediation strategies. Citing material can be done a few ways, but credit should always be listed as who created the source, what publication affiliations are associated with the content, and to reference where it was taken from. I have started this blog, and hope that digital footprint will show the effectiveness of communicating negative issues in a positive manner. The culmination will show progression of theory and understanding towards the issue(s) that I will write about.
